Today we had breakfast with Kevin, and Clare, and Clare’s mum; Mrs Wong;

Kevin and Clare are here in Taipei preparing for their Wedding Banquet on Monday night. (You can see in the photo how happy they are!!!) It is going to be a grand event with 25 tables!! It is a real joy for Becky and I to be part of this special night. (They will have another wedding ceremony in Christchurch early Dec. at Gethsemane Gardens.)

Kevin (more commonly known as ‘Biao-ge’) was in our Church for about 13 years! He was baptised into Christ in our Church, and served the Lord in many areas. You may remember seeing him on drums!! Kevin went to Sydney last year and works there for Cisco as an engineer. Kevin was a really cool guy and we all miss you Biao-ge…. we are waiting for you to ‘come home’!!

Clare was also in our Church for many years. Her two big sisters; Daisy and Carol were also part of our Church for many years, and Clare joined them in Chch when she was still in High School. She studied Food Technology at Otago Uni and then after Graduating, returned to Chch to work in this field for several years. Clare also served the Lord in so many areas in our Church, particularly in the Cantonese Congregation. You might remember seeing her on drums as well!! Last year Clare moved to Auckland. (After their marriage she will join Kevin in Sydney.) Clare was a really lovely young sister in our Church and we all miss you too Clare, and don’t forget………. Chch is a great place to bring up children!!

Mrs Wong and her husband Walter have been in our Church since the early 1990’s. They would come each year for a few weeks or a few months to visit their daughters. Each time they were in CCC they were such a blessing, sharing the Lord with new people and their friends and neighbors. Brother Wong still had his business in Malaysia. Very sadly Brother Wong passed away from an illness about 4-5 years ago. We had his funeral service in Christchurch. It is great to still have Sis. Wong visit our Church, and now that she no longer has any daughters in our Church, we do hope she will still come to visit us sometimes.
